This Week's New Albums: January 26th 2018
Craig David, Marmozets, Django Django and Machine Head are among the artists with new albums out this week.
The Time Is Now
It took Craig David six years to unveil his last effort Following My Intuition, but he’s wasted very little time delivering a follow-up.
The Time Is Now features another array of top producers, with Chase & Status, Jonas Blue, Kaytranada and Plan B/Kano collaborator Fraser T Smith.
JP Cooper, Bastille, rapper GoldLink, grime MC AJ Tracey and rising star Ella Mai all feature on this new album, which includes hit singles ‘Heartline’ and ‘I Got You’.
Marmozets - Knowing What You Know Now
It’s taken the Yorkshire fivesome four years to deliver a follow-up to their hugely acclaimed debut album The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets, but it finally arrives in the first month of this year.
Produced by Gil Norton, best known for his work with Foo Fighters, Twin Atlantic and Pixies, the album sees the band slightly refining the rawness of their debut, but continuing their thundering taste for melodies and choruses.
Django Django - Marble Skies
The eccentric indie types return with their third album, produced once again by drummer David Maclean.
Metronomy’s Anna Prior and Slow Club's Rebecca Taylor both make guest appearances on the album, which includes new single ‘Tic Tac Toe’.
Machine Head - Catharsis
The thrash titans have opted for a change of direction for the follow-up to 2014’s Bloodstone and Diamonds.
Their new LP, the ninth studio of their career to date, was recorded with All Shall Perish Zack Ohren, sees the band pushing melody to the centre, but still maintained the same crushing heaviness that has characterised their sound.
Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons - The Age Of Absurdity
Former Motorhead man Phil Campbell drops his new album, recorded with his sons Todd, Dane and Tyla, plus vocalist Neil Starr.
Orphaned Land - Unsung Prophets and Dead Messiahs
The fiery Israeli metallers drop their sixth LP this week, it features a guest appearance of guitar virtuoso Steve Hackett as well as vocal appearances from Blind Guardian's Hansi Kürsch and At The Gates' Tomas Lindberg
LP - Forever for Now
The singer-songwriter unveils her third studio album this week.
