'Blurred Lines' actress signs up to star alongside Zac Efron in EDM-inspired film
Emily Ratajkowski, the actress who gained worldwide attention for her turn in Robin Thicke's controversial video for 'Blurred Lines', will star alongside High School Musical's Zac Efron in a new movie, inspired by the current electronic music scene.
The film, which is titled We Are Your Friends, is to be directed by Max Joseph, who you might know from his role as co-host on MTV's reality series Catfish.
Ratajkowski, who also has a part in the much anticipated big screen adaptation of Gone Girl, will star alongside Efron in the film, which is billed as a coming-of age-drama about finding your voice, set in the worlds of electronic music and the Hollywood nightlife.
According to Deadline, the film will follow an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole, who spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire. All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James who promises to mentor him. Thing is, it all gets a bit complicated, especially when Cole starts falling for James’ much younger girlfriend, Sophie.
Production on the film will begin later this month.
