A Quiet Place sequel goes into development

A sequel to hit horror A Quiet Place has gone into development.

The movie, which arrived in cinemas two weeks ago, has already taken over $200 million at the box office from a budget of just $17 million, so a sequel has naturally been ordered.

Based on a story by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, A Quiet Place stars John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as a married couple with two children who are forced to live in total silence thanks to the presence of some mysterious and terrifying creatures occupying the farm where they live, and who will hunt and attack them at the slightest noise.

Krasinski also directed and co-wrote the screenplay for the movie, which was produced by Michael Bay. There is no word on a release date for the sequel as yet.

A Quiet Place is out now in cinemas and you can watch our interview with John Krasinski, where he opens up about the film, here.

The movie is available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-Ray here in hmv's online store.
