Al Pacino joins Quentin Tarantino's all-star Quentin Tarantino's Manson family epic Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Al Pacino is the latest addition to the cast of Quentin Tarantino's new thriller Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The movie, which looks set to be based on the notorious Charles Manson murders of the late 1960's, is underway.

The 1969 case which has inspired the film saw Charles Manson, a cult leader, order four of his followers to attack the inhabitants of a house in Los Angeles he believed owned by a record producer who rejected him. The attack left actress Sharon Tate dead along with four others.

The movie will see Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt take key roles. DiCaprio will play Rick Dalton, former star of a western TV series, while Pitt will be his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. Robbie will portray Sharon Tate.

Pacino will play Marvin Schwarz, the agent to DiCaprio's Rick Dalton in the story.

He joins a supporting cast that already features Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant as well as Tarantino regular Michael Madsen and Tim Roth.

Tarantino's new movie is due out on August 9th in 2019 and will be distributed by Sony Pictures after the demise of The Weinstein Company.
