Andrea Riseborough signs up to play villain Top Dollar in The Crow reboot
Andrea Riseborough, best known for her roles in BiRDMAN, Oblivion and Welcome To The Punch, has signed up to play the role of villain Top Dollar in the reboot of The Crow.
The role of Top Dollar, a vicious drug dealer and gang leader, was played by Michael Wincott in the original 1994 adaptation of James O'Barr's comic book, but will be a female character in the new reboot.
The reboot will star Jack Huston, who replaced Luke Evans in the lead role of Eric Draven, a rock musician who is revived from the dead to avenge his murder and that of his fiancée, the part was played by Brandon Lee in the original 1994 movie.
The movie will be directed by rising star Corin Hardy, who stepped in to replace F. Javier Gutiérrez late last year. Hardy, who is best known for directing music videos for the likes of Biffy Clyro, Ed Sheeran and The Prodigy, as well as acclaimed animated short film Butterfly, is currently in post-production on horror chiller The Hallow, his debut as a feature director.
The original entered film notoriety when Lee was accidentally killed during filming. The actor was mortally wounded after being shot in the back during a stunt that went horribly wrong.
