Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander to star in Ben Wheatley's action thriler Freakshift
Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander are to star in Freakshift, the new sci-fi thriller from director Ben Wheatley.
Wheatley opened up to hmv.com recently about his plans for Freakshift in an interview for his new movie Free Fire, saying: "It’s a sci-fi movie set in a future ravaged by ecological troubles and monsters who came up through the ground, and the police force who have to hunt the monsters down before they destroy the town, so it’s a night in the life of them."
He also told hmv.com that he had two leads locked in, but things were still to be confirmed, those two actors have now been confirmed to be Vikander and Hammer, who previously starred together in 2014's The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Hammer, who is currently on screen with Wheatley as part of Free Fire, will play the love interest, while Vikander, who is currently starring in the much-anticipated Tomb Raider reboot, will play the leading role.
Production is expected to get underway in August.
