Atomic Blonde director David Leitch set to direct Fast and Furious spin-off
David Leitch, director of Atomic Blonde, looks set to take the reins on the new Fast and Furious spin-off.
Leitch, who is currently overseeing the final touches on the sequel to Deadpool, is in talks to take charge of the spin-off, which looks set to follow Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw.
A script for the movie, written by regular Fast and Furious scribe Chris Morgan, is ready and Universal are keen to get started, with a release date of July 2019 currently in the diary.
There is no title for the spin-off as yet, but it is thought to send Hobbs and Shaw off on a new mission.
The next full Fast and Furious movie is now due to hit cinemas on April 10th in 2020, a delay of a year, to allow work on the spin-off.
