Avatar sequels delayed yet again
The four planned sequels to Avatar have been delayed once again.
The first sequel to the hugely successful adventure movie was originally due to be in cinemas by Christmas 2016, but has suffered numerous delays.
It was then announced that director James Cameron would be making four sequels to the original. The second and third movie in the series are underway, with the fourth and fifth due to go into production later in 2019.
The plan for the four movies was to release them in December 2020, December 2021, December 2024, and December 2025, but that has now changed again.
Now, Avatar 2 will arrive in cinemas on December 17th in 2021, Avatar 3 has been delayed by two years and will now open on December 22nd in 2023.
Subsequently, Avatar 4 will be released on Dec. 19th in 2025 with the fifth film hitting screens on December 17th in 2027.
Titles for the four sequels are thought to be Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa.
