Avengers: Age Of Ultron - What You Need To Know

It grossed almost one and a half billion at the box office, broke records every time a trailer was released and delighted millions of fans the world over, it’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron. It comes to DVD on Monday (September 14th) and is available to pre-order on the right-hand side of the page. Here is everything you need to know about the blockbuster...

What’s The Plot?

We start in Eastern Europe, with the united Avengers taking down a Hydra facility, clearing up some loose ends. While on the mission the gang discover Loki’s scepter, the same one that he used to enslave Hawkeye and many others in the first movie and confiscate it.

Back at their headquarters, Tony Stark (who you’ll know better as Iron Man)  discover an artificial intelligence within the scepter's gem and secretly use it to complete "Ultron", a dormant peacekeeping program. Regrettably Ultron not only comes to life in the form of a giant, sentient being, but awakes believing he must eradicate humanity to save Earth and a mission that only the Avengers can stop him from achieving…

Who’s In It?

Naturally, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth all return to reprise their roles, they are joined this time by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver and Paul Bettany’s turn as The Vision as well as a new villain in the shape of James Spader’s Ultron.

There are also minor roles for Marvel bit-part regulars, Don Cheadle, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba and Stellan Skarsgård as well as the introduction of Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue, a man who you’ll most likely be seeing a whole lot more of.

Does It Deliver?

Absolutely. It’s a colossal, thundering blockbuster with the usual mixture of incredible set pieces and witty one-liners. Another win in the Marvel’s never-ending string of victories. They’ll be back in 2018 and 2019 for the two-part epic Avengers: Infinity War, it can’t get here soon enough...
