Bad Neighbours 2 - Five Reasons You’ll Love It

After taking over $270 million at the box office back in 2014, it always seemed inevitable that we’d be back for a sequel to Bad Neighbours and indeed we are.

The sequel stars a returning Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Dave Franco, while Chloë Grace Moretz, Carla Gallo, Kiersey Clemons, Beanie Feldstein and Selena Gomez all join the cast.

In the new movie Mac (Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Byrne) have a second baby on the way and are eyeing the quiet life after buying a house in the suburbs. They’re on the verge of selling their home, but they’ve got to wait a month to make sure their buyers don’t pull out, a prospect that becomes that much more likely when it turns out new occupants next door are a sorority.

Desperate to stop the girls setting up home there, Mac and Kelly are forced to team up with Teddy (Efron), their former foe, and come up with a plan to stop the sorority in its tracks.

It hits DVD shelves on Monday (September 12th) and is available to pre-order on the right-hand side of the page, but we caught an early screening and have rounded up five reasons you’ll love it…

The movie sticks to the first film’s formula, but with some unexpected twists…

After the success of the first film the temptation to keep to that formula must have been hugely tempting for director Nick Stoller and it doesn’t drift too far away, but there are enough changes to keep things interesting.

Zac Efron’s Teddy is a revelation, again...

Given we’ve got a pretty similar set-up to the one we had at the start of the first movie, with neighbours at war, it was hard to see where Efron’s Teddy actually fitted in. But he actually ends up playing a key role here and doing it very, very well.

Chloë Grace Moretz and the new additions are all excellent…

Moretz’s Shelby and the rest of her Kappa Kappa Nu sorority are far from a carbon copy of Teddy, Pete, Assjuice and the rest of Delta Psi Beta. They’re feisty and scheming in their own unique way and it’s brilliant to watch.

The filmmakers have made use of their bigger budget…

Inevitably everyone has upped their games for the sequel and we’re treated to several wonderful set pieces. Best of all is a tailgate party with some very dodgy costumes and a very creepy clown...

It’s very, very funny…

You probably expected that, but there are so many brilliant one liners and slapstick moments on show here,

Bad Neighours 2 will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Monday (September 12th). Click here to purchase it from hmv's online store.
