Bambi for new Disney live-action remake
Bambi looks set to be the latest Disney animation to get a live-action remake.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio will be giving the 1942 release an update with a new live-action version.
Bambi tells the story of a young fawn growing up in the forest with his friends. But, when he tragically loses his mother to hunters, Bambi must summon enough bravery to lead the rest of the animals to safety.
For the new version, the studio has enlisted Captain Marvel scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Chaos Walking writer Lindsey Beer to provide the script.
Chris and Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano will act as producers.
Bambi is the latest in a string of live-action retellings of Disney's classics, they have already released new adaptations of Alice In Wonderland, Maleficent, Cinderella, Beauty And The Beast, Dumbo, Pinocchio and Aladdin. New productions of Mulan and Cruella are currently underway.
