Barack and Michelle Obama's first date to be made into movie
The first date President Of The United States Barack Obama and his wife Michelle went on is to be made into a Hollywood movie.
The adaptation, which is to be titled Southside By You, will star Tika Sumpter, who recently starred in James Brown biopic Get On Up, as Michelle, with the part of Barack yet to be cast, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Set in 1989, the film will focus on the day when first-year law student Barack wooed the future Michelle Obama (then Robinson) with a romantic trip around Chicago. A trip that consisted of a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, a long walk around the city and then a visit to the cinema to see Spike Lee's much-acclaimed Do the Right Thing.
The film will be directed by Richard Tanne, who has also written the script. Tanne most recently helped write and starred in a comedy named Worst Friends.
