A first trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody, the new musical biopic about the career of Queen, has been unveiled. Click below to watch it:
Rami Malek stars as Freddie Mercury with X-Men: Apocalypse star Ben Hardy, The Social Network's Joe Mazzello and Jamestown's Gwilym Lee playing the other members of Queen.
Hardy will play drummer Roger Taylor, Mazello is bassist John Deacon and Lee portraying big-haired axeman Brian May.
The film will follow the band through their career, from their rough beginnings to their huge success to their near-implosion as Mercury's lifestyle spirals out of control and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid. Many of the band's songs will feature in the movie.
Game Of Thrones' Aidan Gillen will be playing John Reid, who managed the band from 1975 until 1978, he then hands on to Tom Hollander, who plays Jim Beach, the man who would manage the rest of their career. Lucy Boynton will be Mercury's longtime companion Mary Austin, while Shameless star Aaron McCusker has the role of Mercury's lover, Jim Hutton.
The film has been directed by Eddie The Eagle's Dexter Fletcher. Fletcher took over midway through production after original director Bryan Singer was fired for being absent from the production on multiple occasions and clashing with the cast and crew.
Bohemian Rhapsody will be released into UK cinemas on October 24th this year.
Malek took the role of Mercury after the departure of Sacha Baron Cohen from the production after disagreements over the script. Baron Cohen had previously taken over from Ben Whishaw, who was the first actor to be attached to the movie.
