Ben Affleck confirms the title of first standalone Batman movie
Ben Affleck has confirmed that his first standalone outing at Batman will be titled The Batman, unless a better title comes along.
Speaking to the Associated Press as he promotes his new movie The Accountant, the actor said when asked about his first solo movie as the Caped Crusader: "It's going to be called The Batman. At least that’s what we’re going with now. I might change it."
He added: "We’re working on the script. The script is going well. I’m really excited about it. And I assure you when there’s anything that develops, you’ll hear about it."
Affleck's first solo Batman movie does not have a confirmed release date as yet. There are currently two unknown DC movies scheduled for October 5th in 2018, and November 1st in 2019, with The Batman potentially in line for one of those slots.
It was recently confirmed that Joe Manganiello, best known for his roles in True Blood and Magic Mike XXL, has been cast as Deathstroke, the villain for the standalone movie.
Though Deathstroke, who one of the most fearsome assassins in DC comics' repetoire, is confirmed to face down the Dark Knight in the standalone movie, though whether he will make an appearance in next year's Justice League is still unknown.
