Ben Affleck's Batman to appear in Suicide Squad?
Ben Affleck's Batman could be set to make a cameo appearance in DC's new blockbuster Suicide Squad.
According to Forbes, the caped crusader will make a small appearace at the end of the film, possibly setting up the premise for the next stand-alone Batman film.
Ben Affleck will make his debut as Batman with Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman. Gal Gadot is confirmed to make her debut as Wonder Woman, with The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg taking on the role of Lex Luthor. Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons and Laurence Fishburne also have key roles in the new blockbuster.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently scheduled to be released on March 25th 2016 in the US and on April 29th 2016 in the UK.
The Suicide Squad are currently a man down after Tom Hardy dropped out of his planned role in the new big-budget adaptation.
Hardy had been due to take the part of Rick Flagg, but has been forced to exit the role due to scheduling complications. He is currently shooting dark western The Revenant with BiRDMAN director Alejandro González Iñárritu and Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson, and the shoot has run on longer than expected.
The actor also has a worldwide publicity tour booked to promote new blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road, meaning he does not have enough time to prepare for the role of Flagg.
Producers are already eyeing a replacement for Hardy in the shape of Jake Gyllenhaal, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but Gyllenhaal has yet to say yes or no. He's currently starring on Broadway in Constellations.
The rest of the key cast of the blockbuster were confirmed at the end of 2014. Will Smith will lead the way as Deadshot, with Jared Leto playing The Joker and Delevingne as Enchantress. It also features The Wolf Of Wall Street's Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jai Courtney as Boomerang.
It was reported late last year that Jesse Eisenberg is set to transfer his Lex Luthor character from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and into Suicide Squad, but Eisenberg has, so far, not been announced for the film.
Suicide Squad is to be directed by Fury's David Ayer and will go into production in April, with a release date of August 5th in 2016 already confirmed.
