Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Toby Jones to star in movie version of Dad's Army
Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Toby Jones have been confirmed to star in a big-screen version of British comedy classic Dad's Army.
The film, which will be directed by Johnny English Reborn director Oliver Parker, will be filmed this month in Yorkshire.
Nighy will play Wilson, with Zeta-Jones playing glamorous journalist Rose and Toby Jones starring as Captain Mainwaring.
The Inbetweeners actor Blake Harrison will play Pike, with Michael Gambon as Godfrey, Danny Mays as Walker, Tom Courtenay as Corporal Jones and Bill Paterson as Fraser. Mark Gatiss, Sarah Lancashire, Alison Steadman and Annette Crosbie are also confirmed to appear in the film.
Dad's Army ran from 1968 to 1977 on the BBC, with nine series broadcast in all.
