Billy Dee Williams to return as Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: Episode IX
Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian for the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode IX.
Williams played the character in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, but has so far been absent from the new movies.
However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor, who was played by Donald Glover in the recent Han Solo spin-off, will return for the new movie.
Director JJ Abrams is currently finalising cast details before production begins at the end of the month, with Keri Russell set to be the latest addition to the cast.
Abrams, who was in the director's chair for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will take charge of Episode IX, having replaced Colin Trevorrow, who stepped down from the project in September.
Abrams has co-written Episode IX along with Chris Terrio, whose previous screenwriting credits include Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Argo, for which Terrio won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
