Bodyguard star Richard Madden now favourite to be new James Bond
Bodyguard star Richard Madden is the new favourite to take over as James Bond, according to reports over the weekend.
Madden, who starred as soldier turner bodyguard in the hit BBC thriller, is now reportedly top of producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli's list to take over from Daniel Craig.
According to The Mail On Sunday, a source told the paper: "It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job. Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role."
Production on the next Bond movie will now begin on March 4th in 2019, with the film hitting cinemas on February 14th in 2020.
Cary Fukunaga, who has previously directed Jane Eyre and Beasts Of No Nation as well as True Detective, is now directing after the departure of Danny Boyle.
Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, the screenwriters on Skyfall and Spectre, have returned to work on the new movie.
Star Daniel Craig was confirmed earlier this month to star in a new project with Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson, which begins production at the end of the year.
Bond 25 is widely expected to be Craig's last as 007.
Spectre, Bond's last outing, is out now on DVD and available to order from hmv's online store by clicking on the icon on the right-hand side of the page. You can check out the full Bond catalogue here in hmv's online store.
