Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale to set star in new financial drama The Big Short
Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale are set to team up to star in new financial drama The Big Short.
The film is being adapted from Michael Lewis's book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, which spent 28 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. The book tells the story of the build-up to the housing and credit bubble throughout the 2000s that eventually led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010, reports Variety.
Two of Lewis's previous books have become hit films, The Blind Side, the American football drama that saw Sandra Bullock win an Oscar, and Moneyball, Lewis's look at the evolution of statistics in baseball that became a hugely successful movie, which also starred Brad Pitt.
Adam McKay, best known for directing both of the Anchorman films and The Other Guys, has signed up to direct the film.
Pitt will produce the film through his company Plan B Entertainment.
