Bradley Cooper to direct Beyonce in remake of A Star Is Born?
American Sniper and The Hangover star Bradley Cooper is in negotiations to make his directorial debut behind the camera on a remake of Warner Brothers' classic rags to riches story A Star Is Born.
According to Deadline, Cooper is in final talks to take the role, and, if the talks are successful, he intends to recruit Beyonce to take a starring role in the movie. The report also states that Cooper has not ruled out starring in the film himself.
A Star Is Born was originally released in 1937 and has been remade twice already, most famously in 1976 with a starring pair of Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. It follows the life of John Norman Howard, a has-been rock star falls in love with a young, up-and-coming songstress named Esther Hoffman as her career begins to take off and his falls into terminal decline.
Cooper will next be seen on screen in Cameron Crowe's new comedy Aloha, which is due out this summer.
