Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter cast as Marvel's Jessica Jones
Breaking Bad and Don't Trust The B***h In Apartment 23 star Krysten Ritter has been cast as Jessica Jones in Marvel's new series.
The new superhero drama will premiere on Netflix next year and producers were reportedly looking at a number of actresses, including Warm Bodies' Teresa Palmer and Percy Jackson's Alexandra Daddario, but settled on Ritter, according to Deadline.
Jessica Jones follows the travails of a superhero who is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.
Jessica Jones is the second of Marvel's four new dramas which will be premiering on Netflix, with Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage the other series being produced.
The role of Luke Cage looks set to go to The Following's Mike Colter, who has been screen tested alongside Ritter.
