Breaking Bad's Michelle MacLaren in talks to direct Wonder Woman
Michelle MacLaren, longtime producer and director on Breaking Bad, is in talks to direct DC's new big-budget adaptation of Wonder Woman.
Israeli actress Gal Gadot has been cast as the superhero and will make her debut in 2016's epic Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
According to Variety, MacLaren, who has also worked on hit shows like Game Of Thrones and The Walking Dead, is set to take the director's chair for the standalone movie, which is due out in June 2017.
The announcement of a standalone Wonder Woman movie came as part of a series of announcements of new projects from Warner Brothers chairman Kevin Tsujihara, with movies based on a series of iconic properties due for release in the coming years.
Tsujihara also confirmed that Suicide Squad will be released in 2016, with both Wonder Woman and Justice League Part One are due in 2017, Aquaman is set for 2018, Shazam and Justice League Part Two for 2019, and Cyborg and a new Green Lantern for 2020.
He also revealed that Ezra Miller, star of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower and We Need To Talk About Kevin, has signed up to play The Flash in a new big-budget Hollywood movie version of the iconic comic book.
