Bumblebee's Travis Knight to take charge of long-delayed Uncharted movie
Bumblebee director Travis Knight is to take charge of the long-awaited movie adaptation of Uncharted.
The Uncharted game series has sold over 28 million units across the world and follows treasure-hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake as he travels around the world to uncover various historical mysteries.
Tom Holland will play Nathan Drake. He became attached under director Dan Trachtenberg, director of 10 Cloverfield Lane, he has since left the project.
A movie version of the game has been in active development since 2008, with Mark Wahlberg was attached to star at one time, while Chris Pratt was also linked with the role.
Knight has stepped into the role of director after the departure of Trachtenberg. Production on the movie is scheduled to begin in early 2020.
Night At The Museum's Shawn Levy joins David O. Russell, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon and Neil Burger in departing the project during its development.
