Cast expands for long-delayed Uncharted movie, new release date confirmed

The cast has expanded for the long-awaited movie adaptation of Uncharted.

The Uncharted game series has sold over 28 million units across the world and follows treasure-hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake as he travels around the world to uncover various historical mysteries.

A movie version of the game has been in active development since 2008, with various actors and a slew of directors coming and going from the project, including David O. Russell, Seth Gordon and Neil Burger.

Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will star in the film, and now, according to Variety, the cast has expanded with Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle all joining the film.

Ruben Fleischer, director of Venom and Zombieland, is on board to direct the film, which is now due for release on March 5th in 2021.

Fleischer's most recent output was Zombieland sequel Double Tap. He is not returning to direct the sequel to Venom.
