Charlize Theron confirmed to play villain in Fast and Furious 8
Charlize Theron has been confirmed to play the villain in the new Fast And Furious movie.
Variety reports that the delays over the re-writing of spy thriller The Grey Man have left space in the Mad Max: Fury Road star's schedule and she will take on the role.
Theron previously worked with director F. Gary Gray, who will behind the camera on the new blockbuster, on the 2003 remake of The Italian Job.
She will be teaming up with Jason Statham, who is expected to return to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw, the key villain in Fast 7. They will join Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund Giantsbane on HBO's hit fantasy show Game Of Thrones, he has signed up to play a henchman for the film's villain.
The new movie, which sees Vin Diesel will return to star as Dominic Toretto along with Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham all reprising their roles, will be largely set in New York. It is due in UK cinemas on May 17th in 2017 and will be directed by Gray, the man responsible for Straight Outta Compton.
Earlier this year Vin Diesel confirmed that release date for the ninth and 10th instalments of the Fast and Furious are already set. Fast 9 will be in cinemas on April 19th in 2019 and Fast 10 on April 2nd in 2021.
