Charlize Theron unveils Cipher's new look in Fast & Furious 9
After her appearance in the eighth instalment of the ever-growing Fast & Furious franchise as cyber-terrorist Cipher, Charlize Theron is set to return in Fast & Furious 9 and last night the actress unveiled the first picture of her character's new look:
Fast & Furious 9 is due to arrive in cinemas next year and filming for the ninth instalment in the franchise is currently underway in Edinburgh, where several city centre roads have been closed to make way for the film's high-octane racing action.
Theron is set to reprise her role in the new film, which also stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Helen Mirren, John Cena, Ludacris, Guardians of the Galaxy's Michael Rooker and Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole. Justin Lin, who has helmed several of the films in the Fast series from Tokyo Drift to Fast 6, returns to direct the new film, replacing Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray.
Plot details have been kept tightly under wraps so far, but given Theron's return – and the fact that Cipher's storyline was left decidedly unresolved last time out – means we can probably expect the hunt for her to take centre stage this time around. We'll find out for sure when the film debuts in cinemas on May 22nd next year.
