Chris Pine and Zacchary Quinto sign up for fourth Star Trek film
Just as filming gets underway in Vancouver on the third of the rebooted Star Trek films, news arrived late last night that stars Chris Pine and Zaccary Quinto - who appear in the roles of Captain James T. Kirk and Dr. Spock - have signed deals for a fourth film in the franchise.
Details are still fairly scarce on the third film - provisionally titled Star Trek Beyond - but we do know that the script has been co-written by Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg, who plays engineer Scott in the new films, andDoug Jung. The third film has Justin Lin attached to direct, but as far as the plot goes that’s all the info there is at the time of writing.
Still, fans will be encouraged that the new series of films for the legendary sci-fi franchise has at least another instalment yet to come and the third film is slated for release in July next year.
