Chris Pine confirmed to return for Wonder Woman sequel, new title unveiled
Chris Pine is to return for the sequel to Wonder Woman.
Pine played Steve Trevor in the 2017 blockbuster and his character was widely suspected to have died after sacrificing himself. However, director Patty Jenkins has now tweeted a photo of Pine in action in the sequel, complete with the 1980s outfit to go with the new film's setting.
Star Gal Gadot has also shown off herself in action in the new movie, which looks it will be titled Wonder Woman 1984.
Wonder Woman's foe in the new movie is confirmed to be Bridesmaids' star Kristen Wiig, who takes the role of Cheetah
There are various iterations of the character of Cheetah in the series' comic books, but Wiig's take on the character looks set to be the Barbara Ann Minerva incarnation.
Minerva is a rich heiress who through an ancient ritual acquires supernatural feline powers, a decision that sets on a course to take on Diana Prince in the sequel, which looks likely to be set during the Cold War.
Pedro Pascal is also confirmed to join the cast for the sequel, which is due to hit cinemas in November of 2019.
