Clueless set for remake with GLOW writer
Beloved teen comedy Clueless looks set for a remake.
According to Variety, Marquita Robinson, a story editor and writer on the Netflix comedy series GLOW, will script for the remake, which is being overseen by Girls' Trip producer Tracy Oliver.
Clueless was released in 1995 and starred Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, a rich high school student who decides to help a new girl gain popularity and find love, all the while keeping her own life on track.
Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy and Dan Hedaya had supporting roles, working for writer/director Amy Heckerling.
Ironically, Emma, the Jane Austen novel upon which Clueless based, is also getting a new take.
Split star Anya Taylor-Joy will star, working for acclaimed music video director Autumn de Wilde and bestselling novelist Eleanor Catton.
That story followed young Emma Woodhouse as she meddled in others' romantic affairs in an attempt to play matchmaker.
