Colin Farrell and Benedict Cumberbatch now linked with Marvel's Doctor Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Farrell are the latest actors to be linked with the role of Doctor Strange in Marvel's new big budget adaptation.
It was reported last week that Marvel had a shortlist of six actors for the role, with Jake Gyllenhaal, Oscar Isaac, Ewan McGregor, Jared Leto, Ethan Hawke, and Matthew McConaughey the names reported.
But in the days that followed the likes of Ryan Gosling, Keanu Reeves and Justin Theroux were also linked with the role, and, according to The Wrap, you can now add both Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Farrell to the list of actors in the frame for the role.
Scott Derrickson, best known for directing The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, Sinister and this year's Deliver Us From Evil, has signed up to direct Doctor Strange. Jon Spaihts is currently working on the script. The film is currently scheduled to be released in 2016.
Doctor Strange is a former neurosurgeon who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, he is the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats and possesses a number of great powers.
