Daniel Brühl role in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War revealed
Marvel have revealed the role that Daniel Brühl, star of Rush and Inglourious Basterds, will be playing in the forthcoming blockbuster Captain America: Civil War.
The news was revealed in a posting on Movie Casting Call, which advertised that Disney were seeking extras for the filming of the new movie, which will begin later this year in Atlanta, Georgia. The report states that Brühl has been cast as Baron Zemo.
Zemo was a Nazi scientist who survived World War II and a classic villain from the Captain America comic books. Later in the comics, his son, the better-known Baron Helmut Zemo - also becomes a villain, this time for the Masters of Evil and the Thunderbolts.
It is thought that the film's plot will pit Robert Downey Jn's Tony Stark against Captain America’s alter-ego Steve Rogers, with both characters at war over the Superhero Registration Act. The act forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities to the US government and agree to act as a police force for the authorities. Stark supports the act, whereas Rogers does not, leading to repeated clashes between the pair.
Chadwick Boseman will make his debut as Black Panther in Captain America 3, which is due for release in May 2016. It will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
