Daniel Craig to face Russian villain in new James Bond movie
The villain for the next James Bond movie will be Russian.
The news has broken after a casting call went out saying that producers were seeking a Russian male villain and a Russian female accomplice.
According to stage notes, the villains must be “charismatic, powerful, innovative, cosmopolitan, bright, cold and vindictive”. Producers are also seeking a Maori henchman.
Production on the next Bond movie, which is currently simply known as Bond 25, will begin in December with Danny Boyle directing.
Boyle will work from a script from long-time collaborator John Hodge, with production beginning on December 3rd this year at Pinewood Studios.
Universal Pictures will release the film in the UK and internationally, with the exception of the US where MGM will release the film in the United States on November 8th in 2019 through a partnership with Annapurna Pictures. The UK release date remains October 25th in 2019.
The film is widely expected to be Daniel Craig's last as 007.
