Deadpool 2 release date brought forward
The release date for the sequel to Deadpool has been brought forward.
The sequel was due to hit cinemas on June 1st, but will now come out on May 18th, just a week before the planned release of Star Wars' spin-off about young Han Solo.
The new film will see Wade Wilson return and face off against Black Tom, a well-loved nemesis from the X-Men comics. Black Tom is a Dublin-born mutant who can manipulate, bond with, and project energy through plant life. He will be played by Jack Kesy.
Kesy joins Josh Brolin and Atlanta star Zazie Beetz in being cast for the sequel. Brolin will play Cable, while Beetz will portray Domino.
Deadpool grossed over $780 million at the box office and a sequel was swiftly ordered, a sequel that is set to film later this year.
Ryan Reynolds starred as Deadpool, with Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand also in key roles. John Wick co-director David Leitch takes charge of the sequel.
