"Dickens is such an integral part of British history, we need to reinvigorate that..." - hmv.com talks to Dev Patel

As the man behind the multi-BAFTA award-winning political satire The Thick of It and films such as In The Loop and The Death of Stalin, Armando Iannucci's reputation as one of Britain's sharpest comedic minds is well established, but for his latest project he's turned his attention to something a little different: a literary classic by none other than Charles Dickens.

Adapted from the Dickens novel of the same name, The Personal History of David Copperfield arrives in UK cinemas this Friday (January 24th) and features a stellar cast that includes Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Laurie, Paul Whitehouse and Benedict Wong.

Ahead of the film's cinematic release we caught up with leading man Dev Patel for a chat about working with Iannucci and bringing Dickens into the 21st century.
