Director Scott Derrickson exits Doctor Strange sequel Mulitverse of Madness

Director Scott Derrickson has left the sequel to Doctor Strange.

Derrickson directed the original, which saw Benedict Cumberbatch make his debut in the role, and had been booked to take charge of the sequel, but he has now left, citing "creative differences".

The Doctor Strange sequel is to be titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and is due to go into production in May.

According to reports, neither the start date nor the planned release date of May 7th in 2021 are expected to be delayed.

Cumberbatch will be back to reprise his role, while Elizabeth Olson's Scarlet Witch is also due to take a rey role in the sequel.
