Disney announce new director for Toy Story 4
Josh Cooley has been announced as the new director of Toy Story 4.
It had been announced that John Lasseter, who directed the first two Toy Story movies, would return for the much-anticipated fourth movie in the series, but he has now stepped down from the project.
Cooley, who helped write the script from megahit animation Inside Out, is also a longtime storyboard artist with Pixar and has worked on the likes of Up, Cars and Ratatouille.
The film is due to hit screens in the summer of 2019, with June 21st being the current scheduled release date.
Cooley will direct from a script from Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones and writing partner Will McCormack, working from a story from Lasseter, Finding Nemo's Andrew Stanton, Up's Pete Docter and Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich.
