Disney unveils release date for Indiana Jones 5, Harrison Ford returning to star
A release date for the fifth instalment of Indiana Jones has been unveiled by Disney.
The movie will be released in 2019 with the release date now confirmed to be July 19th in that year. Harrison Ford will return to star with Stephen Spielberg directing once again.
Speaking about the announcement, Alan Horn, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios said: "Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can't wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It's rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven."
Reports surrounding the film had suggested that the character would be rebooted, with Parks And Recreation and Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt strongly linked with the role, but it is now confirmed that Ford will be returning once more.
Ford has starred as Indiana Jones in each of the explorer's four previous cinematic outings, last appearing in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull back in 2008.
