Divergent star Jai Courtney in talks to play Deadshot in DC's Suicide Squad
Jai Courtney, star of A Good Day To Die Hard, Divergent and the forthcoming Terminator: Genisys, is reportedly in talks to take a role in DC's new big-budget adaptation of Suicide Squad.
The Wolf Of Wall Street's Margot Robbie is confirmed to play Harley Quinn, with 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto also in talks to star as The Joker. Tom Hardy and Will Smith are also said to be in discussions about joining the film.
According to Variety, Courtney is being targeted to take the role of Deadshot. Deadshot is Floyd Lawton a master marksman who was first introduced as a Batman villain in 1950.
Warner Brothers reportedly wants Hardy to take the role of Rick Flag, with Smith rumoured to be in talks to play Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang.
The Suicide Squad are a gang of villains and criminals, who are put together and forced by the US government into service as a disposable black ops team. They are led by a government operative Dr Amanda Waller.
It was reported earlier this month that Jesse Eisenberg is set to transfer his Lex Luthor character from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and into the newly announced Suicide Squad.
The studio announced earlier this month that the first Suicide Squad movie is due for release in 2016, with Fury director David Ayer already tapped to be behind the camera on the movie.
