Dreamworks cancels plans for The Croods 2

Dreamworks has cancelled plans to make a sequel to animated hit The Croods

The movie was released in 2013 and featured the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman.

It told the story of the Croods, a cave family who are forced to pack up their lives when their cave is destroyed and find a new home. On their journey they discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures.

Despite grossing almost $600 million at the box office, producers Dreamworks have now decided to cancel plans for a sequel.

According to Variety, plans for the sequel, which had already been delayed from 2018 to 2017, were cancelled last week. The 30 animators who were working on the movie will now be moved to other projects.

You can check out the original movie here in hmv's online store.
