Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to return for a sequel to San Andreas
Work on a sequel to smash-hit blockbuster San Andreas is under way.
The action epic starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as helicopter pilot Ray, who reunites with his ex-wife (played by Carla Gugino) as they leave Los Angeles and head to San Francisco to attempt to find their estranged daughter (played by Alexandra Daddario), who is lost in the midst of an earthquake that has decimated most of the USA.
The film made over $470 million at the box office and a sequel has unsurprisingly been greenlit. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Johnson, Gugino, Daddario and Paul Giamatti, who played the scientist who predicts the quake's arrival, are all booked to return.
Brad Peyton, who will collaborate with Johnson on a new adaptation of computer game Rampage, will return to direct the sequel. There's currently no release date pencilled for the sequel as yet.
San Andreas was released last year and is available to purchase on DVD on the right-hand side of the page.
