Edgar Wright to film Baby Driver after departure from Marvel's Ant-Man
Edgar Wright will be writing and directing a new film named Baby Driver, following his departure from Marvel's Ant-Man.
Wright, who had long been preparing to direct a big-budget adaptation of Ant-Man, with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas confirmed to star, departed the project dramatically earlier this year when it was thought production was just weeks away.
Now, according to Deadline, Wright has returned to Working Title productions, the studio where he made Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and 2013's The World's End, and will write and direct Baby Driver.
The director's new project is described as ""a collision of crime, action, music and sound" with Wright the project's sole writer. It is thought it has been fast-tracked, with the aim of it hitting cinemas in 2015.
Ant-Man will now be directed by Peyton Reed, who is currently shooting a new script ahead of release next summer. Reed has previously directed comedies Yes Man and The Break-Up.
