Edge Of Tomorrow sequel title unveiled, Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise to return
The title for the sequel to Edge Of Tomorrow has been unveiled.
Director Doug Liman, who is booked to return for the sequel, revealed to Collider that the movie will be titled Live Die Repeat And Repeat and that stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will return.
Speaking about the sequel, he said: "We have an amazing story! It’s incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film”. Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when”.
Live Die Repeat: Edge Of Tomorrow (which was its title when released on DVD and Blu-Ray) starred Cruise and Blunt as soldiers fighting a highly evolved alien race known as mimics.
The war they're involved in is on the verge of being lost, but suddenly they discover a new weapon. When Cruise’s character William Cage is killed in combat early on, he discovers that he’s caught in a time loop and must live the same day over and over again, giving his side a new advantage in the war.
