Elizabeth Banks announces full cast for her new comedy-drama Cocaine Bear
Elizabeth Banks has confirmed the cast for her new comedy-drama, Cocaine Bear.
The film will retell the 1985 events where 175LB black bear managed to eat 70 LBs of cocaine.
The drugs, which had an estimated value of $15 million, had been thrown out of an aeroplane by smuggler Andrew Thornton, who was mid-way through dropping large quantities of coke across Georgia.
Thornton, sadly, wasn't around to answer for his crimes, as when he jumped out of the plane and his parachute failed to open – with his body landing in a neighbourhood driveway in Knoxville.
Police found Thornton with $4,500 in cash, which promoted an investigation that led all the way back to the bear.
In key roles in the movie will be Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Banks will work from a script from Jimmy Warden, The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are among the producers.
Production will begin in August in Ireland.
