Episodes to end after five seasons
Episodes, the hit comedy starring Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan, is to end after five seasons.
The show premiered in 2011 and starring Greig and Mangan as Beverly and Sean Lincoln, successful British TV writers who head to Hollywood when their critically acclaimed TV drama gets picked up a big budget stateside remake, a remake that will star Matt LeBlanc.
According to Variety, one further season of the show will be shot this year and broadcast in 2017, it was consist of seven episodes.
Speaking about the show's ending, co-creators David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik said: “We have had the best time making this show. Showtime has been the opposite of every network we write about. If it were up to them we could go on making ‘Episodes’ forever. But we’ve told the story we set out to tell and we’d never want to outstay our welcome.”
Showtime's president of programming Gary Levine added: "Episodes scathing portrait of network executives has kept me on my best behavior these last several years, for which I am grudgingly grateful to Jeffrey and David. I love this show and can’t wait to see what comic heights Matt and company will scale during the fifth and final season of our inspired series.”
