Familiar faces return in the new trailer for Twin Peaks revival

A new trailer for the hugely anticipated revival of Twin Peaks has been unveiled and it's below for you:

Twin Peaks originally ran in 1989 and lasted for 30 episodes over two series before it was cancelled by network ABC. The show followed the travails of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, who is sent to the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington to investigate the murder of high school student, Laura Palmer. 

It will return on May 21st on a US network Showtime for a new 18-episode series with a two-hour premiere, with the series being broadcast in the UK on Sky Atlantic, which will show the series' opening on May 22nd. 

The revival will return with stars Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Harry Dean Stanton Mädchen Amick, Ray Wise and David Duchovny all returning. Also confirmed to star are Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Michael Cera, Monica Bellucci, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sky Ferreira, Jim Belushi, Tim Roth, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Amanda Seyfried, Laura Dern, Balthazar Getty and Naomi Watts.

None of the new stars make an appearance in the new trailer, instead focusing on the return of the MacLachlan's Agent Cooper and the other original stars.
