Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley to write and direct next Star Trek movie
Noah Hawley, showrunner on Fargo, will take charge of the next Star Trek movie.
According to Deadline, Hawley is in final talks to write and direct the fourth instalment in the rebooted saga.
The follow-up to 2016's Star Trek: Beyond has had a troubled development.
Director SJ Clarkson was booked to take charge, but things ran into trouble in the summer of 2018 when it was revealed that both Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth had walked out of talks over their salary concerns.
Clarkson has now departed, but, according to the report, Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are all expected to return for the new movie.
Hawley will begin work after he completes the fourth season of Fargo. His feature film debut, Lucy In The Sky, will arrive next month.
JJ Abrams will produce the new Star Trek movie.
