Final Destination set for reboot from Saw writers
Hit horror franchise Final Destination is set for a reboot.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, writers on four of the Saw movies, have been tasked with revamping the series.
First released in 2000, Final Destination followed high school student Alex Browning, who is about to board a flight to France.
While waiting for takeoff, Alex has a premonition that the plane will explode in mid-air, killing everybody on board. After panicking, he is removed from the plane along with a series of other students.
When his premonition comes true, Alex and the survivors imagine they are safe, only to have Death, as a personified but unstoppable force, come for them one by one.
The film spawned four sequels, taking over $650 million in box office receipts.
