A first poster for Wonder Woman sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has been unveiled. You can see it below:
By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year. We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full-- But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait… pic.twitter.com/QllFzhYRA6— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) June 5, 2019
The film, which is currently in post-production, was expected to hit cinemas in November of 2019, but was then moved to June 5th in 2020.
Stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen will be back for the sequel, as will director Patty Jenkins.
Wonder Woman's foe in the new movie, which will be set amidst the Cold War in the Soviet Union, is confirmed to be Bridesmaids' star Kristen Wiig, who takes the role of Cheetah.
There are various iterations of the character of Cheetah in the series' comic books, but Wiig's take on the character looks set to be the Barbara Ann Minerva incarnation.
Minerva is a rich heiress who through an ancient ritual acquires supernatural feline powers, a decision that sets on a course to take on Diana Prince in the sequel, which will be set during the Cold War.
Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde and Oakley Bull will join the cast for the sequel in as yet unconfirmed roles.
