Fox planning new X-Men live action TV show?
After the success of this year's X-Men: Days Of Future Past, producers Fox are reportedly looking to take X-Men on to the small screen and are said to be in "deep development" on a new live-action TV series.
According to Bleeding Cool, sources have told them that Fox are hard at work on taking the franchise onto TV, following in footsteps of Arrow, Gotham and The Flash, all of which have all recently found a home on the small screen.
The move comes after X-Men: Days Of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg admitted that there were now plans to take X-Men into a much wider universe.
Kinberg confimred in the same interview with ComicBook.com that the planned spin-off for much-loved character Deadpool fits into "an overall plan" for the X-Men universe.
Asked about the future plans for Deadpool and its potential for crossover with other properties, Kinberg said: "There’s definitely a sort of overall plan that we’ve all been talking about for the X-Men universe now and Deadpool obviously fits into that."
He continued: "So yeah, I guess I would say it's part of certainly an overall timeline and thought process that goes into these films, some of which is inspired by the comics and some which is inspired by seeing what Marvel’s done with telling a larger tapestry and linking all those movies together, even as they stand independently as well. The same kind of thought is going to go into these X-Men movies at Fox.”
