Frozen short film Frozen Fever to debut in cinemas ahead of Cinderella next year
Disney have announced that Frozen Fever, the previously announced Frozen short film, will be released into cinemas next year and will play ahead of their new adaptation of Cinderella.
Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will direct the new short film, which will feature a new song from Oscar winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
According to the official announcement, the film centres about a birthday party, with the logline reading: "In Frozen Fever, it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk."
A new sing-a-long version of Frozen has just been released on DVD.
The new adaptation of Cinderella stars Downton Abbey's Lily James as the title character, with Cate Blanchett taking on the role of Cinderella's cruel stepmother and Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera as her daughters Anastasia and Drisella.
One-time Game Of Thrones' star Richard Madden plays Prince Charming, with Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother. Hayley Atwell, Stellan Skarsgård and Derek Jacobi also feature in the supporting cast for the fairy tale.
The movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a script from Aline Brosh McKenna and Chris Weitz. It is due to open on March 13th in the US and March 27th in the UK next year.
